Duchess is a lovely little girl that enjoys the company of her people and other dogs.  She enjoys playing fetch, playing nose-soccer with her ball, and really loves her walks, too.  She is a bit scared sometimes and requires a cheerleader in her corner to help with her confidence.  This is why we feel another dog in the home is going to be important for her as she takes cues from the other dogs.  She is food motivated so if she ever is overwhelmed in a situation, treats, treats and more treats will help her a great deal.  She is scared around young kids at first and will bark, but can warm up, though ideally a calmer household may be best with only older teens.  She is both house trained and crate trained.

We would love to see Duchess take a training class as we think she would excel and it would help her new person learn too, so priority will be given to someone willing to take her to training classes.  Positive reinforcement is a must for Duchess.  She is also not a candidate for dog parks as she may flee in conflict and any altercation would crush her confidence. Duchess is looking for a family to help her become the best dog she can be.  We will arrange a meet and greet with the chosen family in Ottawa after we complete calls before a commitment is made.
