Finian

Sweet Finian came to us from Barbados after suffering a machete wound on his back. He is fully recovered and is loving every minute of his new life! Throughout everything, Finn never stopped wagging his tail and wanting all the love. Finn is friendly with everyone he meets. He is currently living in a household with a 9 & 11 year old and 2 other dogs. Finn tries to initiate play with the dogs he is currently living with and enjoys having another active dog to play with, but he also likes being the centre of attention and is working on his manners when the other dogs want space.

Finn is a very happy boy and loves his zoomies when he goes outside in the morning. He loves to play and needs physical and mental exercise. He is learning not to mouth his people and to focus that energy on appropriate chew toys. He continues to show progress and with consistent guidance & redirection he will become his best self. He is a heavy chewer and will need heavy duty chew toys. Finn absolutely loves 15-20mins jogs that help him burn off some of that young dog energy.

When he is calm, he gives the best cuddles!! He wraps his arms around your waist and rests his head on your shoulder. He has a good balance of being active and playful, and also your cuddle buddy. Finn is crated when left alone. He whines a little at first but settles down quickly. He has not shown any signs of aggression or resource guarding. Finn rarely ever barks, unless spooked. He can sometimes be a little uncertain around men at first. Finn is very food motivated which could be helpful when continuing his training. He is very agile and can jump really high so he may enjoy some agility training as well. Finn is housebroken and will let you know if he needs to go outside by whining at the door. With the right person, or family, who will commit to continuing his training, Finn will be an amazing companion.
