Gordon

Empty lap? Gordo is going to be on it like a 90lb weighted blanket, “lapping” up your love and attention. This sweet boy had a rough start but has been loving Ottawa winter weather and is excited to play with his same-size housemate. He is so good on his walks and great meeting new people and dogs but is not really aware of his size and will require consistent training as he is a work-in-progress.

Gordo wants to be the first one you go to and is quite the toy “thief”. Think about a giant dog smirking and tip-toeing away with a stolen toy in his mouth, running off to his crate to investigate what it is and to dance with it.

Yes, he is happy in his crate. Gordo has no problem spending time in his crate as this is where he gets his meals, treats and can hang out on his own. He is working on ringing the bells to get outside, and polite welcomes. He will follow the lead that your dog provides with most behaviours. Gordo is extremely food motivated and while he has been able to wait/sit for food treats he is a bit “Me first” especially when it comes to new chews or toys.

He wants to be first for everything. He is quick to investigate and needs an active family to keep him moving, distracted and out of mischief. He loves playing with his foster sister and will benefit from having another playful dog in the home to help burn through his excitement and energy. He loves exploring when he walks and a couple of walks a day would be just lovely to stimulate not just his body but his nose and brain too!

He is house trained however a new environment might set him back initially and accidents may still happen.

Once he knows which way is out it should be smooth sailing. If he sounds like the right fit for you, please fill out an application.
