Jakk will need a home in areas with breed neutral laws. At this time he needs to find his forever home outside of Ontario.
Meet the very handsome Jakk!! This fit and trim boy is a wicked amount of fun. He absolutely adores playing in his fenced-in yard with his foster family. He loves playing with balls, sticks and anything else he can find. Jakk also loves to go on forest hikes, and he is rather easy to run with a back belt and bungee line.
Jakk likes to always hold a toy in his mouth and will trade his toy for cookies with ease. It is very endearing so see him carry his stuffy around. Jakk can be a bit intense and has worked very hard with his foster home to always offer a controlled behavior like ‘sit’ and waiting for a release before being let out of his crate or to go out the doors. Jakk is looking for a family that wants to continue working on impulse control, he is a very smart boy but had a tough start without a lot of learning how to be calm and wait for what he wants.
Jakk is crate trained but requires an indestructible crate. In this crate he is fine for a typical work day on his own. He is good more or less all the time, but he is powerful and if he wants out it does not take much for him to destroy a normal crate. He does settle down quickly and sleeps well in his crate. Jakk is also house trained.
Jakk has lived with another dog in the past and could likely live with another laid back, female pooch. Jakk likes to chase and sometimes “taste” the kitties, so no cats in his forever home please! Due to Jakk’s size, energy and small quirks, a home with older children is best.
Jakk is very food motivated and will work very hard to earn his treats! He likes routine and structure and will do best in a home that will provide a regular structured day for him.
