Jess, the new girl, came into care like a tornado.  She had likely been hit by a car 2 weeks prior and had an incredible break to her leg and yet, there she was, full-hearted and doing her best to get around and not let it get her down.  That’s Jess’ way.  If the skies opened up and rained down on her wedding day, Jess is going to play in the puddles.  You can’t lessen the love of life that this dog has. Enthusiastic is a great word for this lady bug.

Jess is a smaller gal, but boy is she spry!  She can hop a 4 ft baby gate with little effort and enjoys bouncing like a deer in her fenced in backyard while she plays “Chase Me” with her foster canine buddies, easily outrunning all of them.  You’d never know she had ever had a trauma to her leg if it were not for the xrays.  Play should be her middle name because if she could play all day and snuggle all night, her life would be complete.  Her foster mom works though and so Jess is left during the day, and she is not a fan of her crate and so does sing many songs of many unhappy people.  If left loose, she is much happier but will also snoop and if any food or chompy items are left out (like socks) she will happily redecorate while enjoying a loaf of bread you forgot on the counter.  It’s okay though, cause when you come home, that happy and sweet face will shower you with so much love that you might forget how much you loved those socks or that throw pillow.

Jess is attentive and eager to learn, food motivated and will give you 110% every day.  She does bark when something looks or sounds suspicious to her (like the neighbour working on his canoe or a scary stranger at night).  Speaking of walks, Jess is a bit of an unfocused mess still, and pulls in many directions as she is just too excited.  We are working on this and she can focus with treats and praise after a minute of taking in the world first.

Jess has many dog friends and enjoys rough, tumbly and mouthy play.  A dog with an easy going and similar play style would be most welcomed in her life, as would be a wonderful, energetic and loving person too.  Think that might be you?
