Misha

Misha is a beautiful girl looking for her forever family. She is such a happy enthusiastic girl, her tail is always wagging.
Misha loves her long walks, but can be just as happy with short walks followed by couch time so long as it’s with you.
Her favourite toys are loud and squeaky, chewy soccer balls, and may often take your shoe from the front hall and run! telling you “Play with me!!” Or ‘it’s walk time’. She can easily be redirected by trading a toy for that shoe and having a little tug of war until she gets that walk.

Misha has lived her foster life surrounded by dogs. She would be perfectly content as an only dog or sharing your love and attention with a canine companion once slow introductions are successful. Misha is playful, sometimes needs supervision as she can get carried away with her zoomiez and perhaps her doggie friend doesn’t share her spontaneous enthusiasm to engage.

Misha absolutely loves the car. She’s a great travelling companion in the city or longer road trips. New places mean new adventures and smells to discover.
She would also love going to work with you provided she has a comfy warm place to wait. Bonus if there’s sunbeams! She is patient, loves people and doesn’t get in the way.

Misha is not a fan of winter. Or rain. Or cold of any kind. She would love a sunny 30oC all year long. But if that can’t happen she’d settle for a warm soft bed and being covered under wooly blankets until the sun beckons her out of hibernation.

Misha requires a fenced yard. She is not likely to be allowed off leash due to her reactivity to new dogs (please read further). A fenced yard gives a safe space for her to explore and run around when she gets her zoomiez and silly play.

Misha is reactive to new dogs. She currently lives with multiple dogs and is regularly introduced to new foster dogs in the home. She needs a few days of seeing the dog in small increments, smelling the new dog’s presence before she truly settles and accepts this new addition. She has a very strong bark and her eagerness to smell/meet/imprint could put another dog off, so a very slow, controlled intro with lots of treats and praise is key for all parties’ success. This process could take 3-4 days and her foster mom will share more info to help a smooth transition.
If she sees another dog on walks Misha needs space (across the street) and can be redirected with treats and praise for no tugging and no barking. Her need to smell and imprint is strong, but she loves food more and will focus on multiple quick treats to forget the passing distraction and she recovers quickly.

Misha is housebroken and crate trained (whines and barks sometimes as she just wants to be warmer with you), she is not destructive. Misha is food motivated which makes it easier to keep (or redirect) her attention with a treat. She would do best with kids 10+ because she gets so excited to see you home she could jump up for kisses and can be mouthy with hands.
