Miss Rhea is a beautiful and sensitive girl. She is communicative with her people and is hopeful to find patience and kindness from her new home. She can be unsure and it is important that she does not have a lot of social pressure to interact with people. She can easily fool you, because once she knows you, life is a breeze in the home! Naps, cuddles and hanging out are her favourites! She is good left loose in the home, but we still recommend that her new home continues to make her feel comfortable in her crate for breaks.
Out in the community, she will bark at the dogs passing by and as she is a strong girl, we recommend a walking harness too! We believe play time in a fenced in yard will be more effective in tuckering her out and having a more positive time, so we would love to see her find a home with a yard. She has been around dogs in foster care, but she is not interested in interacting and we believe she might be happiest to just have her people to herself. She can be left for a workday and is house trained though you must put all food on counters away as she is happy to eat a loaf of bread! As most dogs would, she would still love to have someone home more often. When you do come home, she will make sure you know you are the most exciting and most important person in her world!
It is important to Miss Rhea that she lives in a chill home where the people will want to cuddle and give her scratches and love often. She does need structure though, and positive reinforcement is the way to go! When meeting new people in the home, she is insecure and will need folks willing to go slow and put her away if it is only a short visit anyway. She just prefers the easy and mellow life where she can kick up her paws and watch tv or in the spring and summer, watch you garden away if that’s your thing.
