Nero

Nero is a special pooch with a heart of gold. This love bug had a very difficult first year of his life where he found himself passed around from person to person so we are glad that he landed into our care so we can find his forever family!

Nero has minimal vision but that doesn’t slow him down. He loves to go for walks and enjoys being outside. He may need time to map out his new home but once he has, it’s amazing to watch him go! We would love to see him attend positive based training classes as he still likes to greet humans paws first and is very strong on leash. Training classes will also help him bond with his new people.

Are you looking for a snuggle bug? Nero is a big cuddler and melts when he gets the chance to curl up with his people! Since Nero does have limited vision, he can struggle at times when meeting new canine pals since he can’t read their body language. He needs very slow and controlled introductions and he wouldn’t enjoy being in a large group of dogs (like at a dog park). He is crate trained but becomes easily anxious if commotion is happening around him so he still needs positive reinforcement during crate time (he loves Kong toys frozen with wet food as a crate treat!). He is fully house trained and clean inside as long as he is let out regularly so we would prefer someone who works from home or has someone to let him out midday. This boy is also an excellent house guest and he is non destructive and only chews on his dog toys.
