Introducing Miss Sophie!
Sophie is such a lovebug! She is just the sweetest girl and loves to cuddle with her people!
If you’re looking for a shadow Sophie is your girl! She loves to follow her people around the house and be included in your daily activities!
Sophie is a medium energy girl, she enjoys a couple good walks a day but otherwise is very happy to snooze on the couch and cuddle. She currently lives with a cat who she mostly ignores. She has lived with other dogs previously and happily walks by other dogs while on walks. She can get a bit overexcited to meet new dogs on walks if they are also excited but she is easily redirected. Sophie could possibly live with another dog with similar energy levels and playstyle. Slow introductions are required.
Sophie does not currently live with children but she has met some older kids and done well. Due to her size we would recommend older, dog-savvy children in the home.
Sophie loves very hard and due to this she has developed some separation anxiety when away from her most favourite people. Her very dedicated foster parents have worked very hard on this with her and she is currently on some medications to help her with her anxiety. She is fully crate and house trained but she will bark sometimes at first when they leave for work. For this reason we would recommend a detached home for her. She is making great progress with being left alone and settling in her crate.
Sophie would love a family who is dedicated to working on her anxiety with her and continuing the amazing work her foster family has done! She loves car rides and would happily go an any outing or adventure with you!
Sophie really is just the sweetest lady whose most favourite activity is to cuddle with her family!
She requires a special home who will be patient with her while she adjusts and who will help her through her anxiety. She loves everyone she meets and just wants her own forever home!

- Special: Sophie recently had ectopic cilia removal surgery. She still needs an eye drop called Ketorolac twice daily. She may require this medication for life and a 10ml bottle of the eye drops costs approximately $100. Sophie does have a recheck with the eye specialist in the summer at Sit WIth Me's cost, and based on this appointment, we will know if Sophie needs continued eye drops & check ups with the specialist. Pet Insurance will not cover Sophie's eyes as it is a pre-existing medical condition, so her adopter needs to have a financial plan for future eye related medical needs. None of our dogs are candidates for public dog parks. Please do not apply if these are important to you! We are currently looking for an adoptive home in Ottawa/Gatineau only.
