Maynard

Maynard is a friendly boy. He can be insecure but also incredibly brave, willing to try anything with his trusted people by his side cheering him on. Maynard still has a lot of puppy excitability and loves to bounce, hop, and jump. He is starting to gain confidence and be more independent, but he very much loves his people and wants to be with them.

Maynard loves dogs and does well with another dog in the home, it is not a requirement but it is preferred. Maynard loves to play and cuddle up to dogs and looks to them for confidence. Maynard has not met a cat while in care, he would do best in a cat free home. Maynard has not had a lot of exposure to children, he would prefer older dog savvy children in the home. Maynard is a medium energy dog, he loves his walks and enrichment toys. He has been introduced to agility equipment and was eager and willing to work, he showed no fear and learned them quickly.

Maynard is crate trained but it takes him about 15 minutes to settle into his crate then he is fine over night or for a full work day. Maynard is fully potty trained. Maynard has a great sit, and pretty good recall. He is working on “wait” and is doing well. He does jump up on people and objects but is very responsive to boundaries and “no”. He sometimes forgets his manners when he is excited. Maynard would love a family who can continue with his training through positive reinforcement training classes. Maynard is fine in the car.

Maynard is a sweet, loving cuddle bug who just wants to be with his person! He is all legs, and doesn’t always know what to do with them. Everyone he meets comments on his perky floppy ears. He loves chewing on his Benebones and solving puzzles.
