Ryan

Ryan, this handsome young fellow is now searching for new best friends to join him for long walks and enthusiastic playtime. He absolutely loves other dogs and requires a confident, playful dog in his new home. Ryan currently lives with three other dogs and is very respectful of the senior who isn’t up for rambunctious playtime; he still tries to get him to play but he is a polite gentleman about it. His favourite times of the day are when he has the freedom to run around the yard like a crazy fool, chasing or being chased by his buddies, and doing anything that involves food. He is fully house trained and crate trained; he isn’t entirely keen on being left in a crate and has proven to be non-destructive when left unsupervised for short periods of time.

Ryan is a smart boy and learns very quickly. He loves his toys (who doesn’t enjoy the thrill of tearing apart a stuffy or chasing a food ball around the furniture) and yet understands what is not his to touch. Ryan isn’t a huge fan of car rides, but lots of short trips with fun at the end (for example, a walk in a new place) has greatly increased his tolerance and he now will jump in with just a little coaxing. He does the cutest pirouettes at meal time and you can almost see the joy on his face when he knows that food is coming. He will happily curl up beside you on the couch or in bed; being near, resting against you, and staring into your eyes is his love language.

Ryan does not live with kids, but has met some while in our care; he is hesitant but curious, and should be fine with older, dog savvy children. He has not met cats and so would need a cat-free home. Ryan does experience anxiety in high traffic areas, so his ideal home will be in a quiet suburban or rural area. Ryan may just be the soul mate that you and your pup have been missing!
