Pix

Pix is the kind of dog who quietly becomes your best friend.
This beautiful tripod girl is playful, loyal, and happiest when she can simply be near her people. She’s independent enough to entertain herself, but you’ll quickly notice she’s always somewhere nearby, keeping you company and making sure she doesn’t miss out on family life.
One of Pix’s favorite things in the world is fetch. If she wants to play, she’ll gently place a ball or toy directly into your hand and patiently wait for you to throw it. It’s impossible not to smile when she does it.
Pix has a medium energy level and would do well with a family that enjoys regular play sessions and a predictable routine. While long hikes may not be her idea of a perfect day, she’d happily join you for camping trips, backyard games, and relaxing evenings at home.
She is fully house trained and crate trained, and knows several commands including sit, stay, down, and come. She walks nicely on leash, although she can occasionally pull when an especially interesting smell catches her attention.
Pix can comfortably stay home alone for up to 8 hours, though she does have a touch of separation anxiety and would much rather be spending time with her family.
Because Pix resource guards food and toys from other dogs, she would do best as the only dog in the home. She has no reactivity toward people, dogs, or other everyday distractions, and she is known for being gentle, kind, and easy to live with. She may be able to live with a dog-savvy cat who understands boundaries.
Pix’s ideal family is simply one that enjoys having a canine companion involved in daily life. She doesn’t need endless exercise or complicated adventures—just people who will love her, play fetch with her a few times a day, and appreciate the quiet companionship she offers.
Pix has Addison’s Disease, which is well managed with medication. She will require medication twice daily for the rest of her life. Adopters should also be prepared to continue helping her build strength and confidence following her leg amputation. Don’t tell Pix she’s missing a leg, though as she certainly hasn’t noticed.
What makes Pix truly special isn’t that she’s a tripod. It’s her gentle nature, her unwavering loyalty, and the way she wants nothing more than to be part of your world.
Within the first week, you’ll fall in love with her kindness. She’s the type of dog who simply wants to be in your orbit, sharing life alongside you one toy toss at a time.
