Scone

Scone is a sweet, playful little boy who really enjoys being close to his people. While some of his siblings are quick to head off and see what adventures they can find, Scone tends to stick around a little more. He likes knowing where his humans are and is quite happy to make himself part of whatever they’re doing.

Don’t mistake his desire to stay close for a lack of playfulness, though. Scone loves to play! Whether he’s interacting with his siblings, investigating something interesting, or joining in on the latest round of puppy antics, he’s always happy to have some fun.

Scone’s tendency to stay nearby makes him a particularly people-oriented little guy. He enjoys interaction and companionship and regularly chooses to remain close rather than venturing quite as far as some of his more independent siblings. He still has plenty of puppy curiosity, but having his people nearby seems to be part of what makes an adventure worthwhile.

Scone has been raised alongside his littermates and is comfortable interacting and playing with other dogs. He has also had exposure to cats in his foster home. As with any young puppy, his future family will need to continue teaching him appropriate manners with both canine and feline friends as he grows.

He was quick to catch on to using the litter pan and has continued to use it consistently. Formal house training and crate training have not yet begun, so his new family should be prepared to start those skills from the beginning and help him make the transition from puppy-pen life to living in a home.

Although Scone hasn’t started formal training yet, he is at a wonderful age to begin. His interest in people gives his future family a great opportunity to build engagement through positive, reward-based training while continuing to introduce him thoughtfully to new people, places, sounds, surfaces, and experiences.

If you’re looking for a playful little companion who enjoys joining in on the fun but also likes keeping his favourite humans close, Scone may be the perfect addition to your family.

Additional notes

  • Dogs: Yes, to dogs who will be gentle with little pups and tolerant of normal puppy play, please!
  • Cats: Possibly with friendly and dog-savvy cats. Scone has been exposed to cats in his foster home and, like any young puppy, will need guidance learning appropriate feline manners.
  • Kids: 8+ and dog-savvy as he may nibble in play and jump when excited.
  • Housing type: Single or Townhome.
  • Fenced Yard: Required for safe play in the city or a privately owned backyard green space for bathroom breaks.

He’ll need time, consistency, patience, and plenty of positive reinforcement as he learns the ropes.

  • Adoption Fee: $900
None of our dogs are candidates for public dog parks due to safety and risk, so if these are important to you, please do not apply. Only applicants selected as the best match will be contacted.
