Buttertart
Buttertart, affectionately known as Tart, is a confident, curious little girl with a wonderfully balanced personality. She loves her people and enjoys being part of the action, but she’s equally comfortable heading off on her own to see what she can discover.
In fact, Tart made her adventurous streak known pretty early: she earned the distinction of being the very first puppy in the litter to escape from the puppy pen. Apparently, Tart took one look at those walls and decided there was probably something interesting on the other side.
Tart approaches the world with confidence and curiosity. She enjoys exploring her surroundings and doesn’t need someone beside her every step of the way. At the same time, she genuinely enjoys being with people and regularly comes back to connect with her humans. She has that lovely middle ground between independence and companionship: confident enough to do her own thing, but still very much interested in having a relationship with her people.
Tart has been raised alongside her littermates and is comfortable interacting and playing with other dogs. She has also had exposure to cats in her foster home. As with any young puppy, her future family will need to continue teaching her appropriate manners with both canine and feline friends as she grows.
She was quick to catch on to using the litter pan and has continued to use it consistently. Formal house training and crate training have not yet begun, so her new family should be prepared to start those skills from the beginning and help her make the transition from puppy-pen life to living in a home.
Tart’s confidence, curiosity, and natural desire to explore give her a wonderful foundation for continued socialization and training. We’d love to see her future family encourage that adventurous spirit through positive experiences while also building on her connection with people through reward-based training.
If you’re looking for a confident little explorer who is happy to investigate the world independently but still thinks her people are an important part of the adventure, Tart may be the perfect balance for you.
