Edwina
Meet Edwina! She is a sweet, affectionate pooch who loves her people and thrives on attention, structure, and reassurance. She has been friendly and social with every adult she has met while in care. She has shown some mild mouthy behaviour when excited or wanting to play, so she is looking for a home without babies / toddlers.
Edwina is loving, eager to please, and very people‑oriented. She has a playful, sometimes mischievous streak. She enjoys investigating garbage or laundry if given the chance, so she should be crated when left alone to keep her safe and out of trouble. She is smart, food‑motivated, and a great candidate for positive‑reinforcement training. She loves to play and chew, so a toy bin full of fun, durable toys would be a dream come true!
She is an active dog with bursts of energy throughout the day. She loves running full-speed laps in the yard and enjoys a good game of fetch.
Edwina loves other dogs. She doesn’t currently live with one, but she is excited and friendly when she sees dogs on walks. She has had positive playdates with a small senior dog and did very well. A confident canine friend may help her feel more secure on walks. She is untested in the home with cats but on walks she has shown curiosity. She may be able to live with a confident, dog‑savvy cat if her adopter is comfortable doing slow, structured introductions.
Leashed walks are still a major source of stress for Edwina. Her foster family has been working hard with her, and she has made progress, but she still finds the outside world overwhelming at times. She requires a securely fenced yard in her adoptive home so she can safely get outside and exercise while continuing to build confidence. A quiet neighbourhood would be great!
Edwina’s house training is improving, though she still needs reminders to go outside. She is great in the car and typically curls up for a nap.
She is such a loving girl who wants nothing more than to be close to her people. With the right home, she will continue to blossom into a wonderful & social pooch.
