Emory
Emory is an easy going dog, he is nervous of people or new dogs at first but after a few sniffs he opens up. He has excellent house manners and is generally a quite boy. Emory enjoys a good game of fetch or sniffing out the backyard.
Emory is initially nervous of meeting strange dogs. Once he is comfortable around a dog he gets confidence around other dogs and enjoys walking with them. Emory has not met a cat while in care, with slow intros and a dog savvy cat he could live with a cat. Emory has interacted with kids and done well but due to his nervous nature he would do best in a home with older dog savvy children. Emory is a low to medium energy dog and a fair weather walker. When the weather is not too bad and he is with his trusted person he enjoys his walks.
Emory is potty trained and crate trained, he can be in his crate for a full work day. Emory will need a family who will be patient with him and grow his confidence as he figures out the world. Emory is uncomfortable with handling at the vet, his forever family will need to give him medication for him to relax prior to vet visits. Emory tolerates the car, it is not his favorite and it takes him a bit to settle down.
Emory loves his belly rubs, if you are walking around he will flop in front of your feet to get the belly rubs. He is a sweet boy and for the right family you will see his sweet, playful loving nature.
