Flux
Flux is ready for her forever home. Her personality is sensitive and thoughtful, and she will do best in a specific type of household that can meet her needs.
Flux is a medium energy pup and requires regular off leash exercise and mental enrichment to stay happy and well-balanced. She does not have excessive exercise needs but does need an engaged home. Flux is sensitive to her environment and would struggle in a busy home or a home in a loud or urban area. Her ideal home is one that is in a quiet neighbourhood and that has a fenced yard for her to explore in. Flux’s absolute favourite place is the outdoors and she will self-entertain in the yard for hours if given the opportunity. For this reason a fenced yard is required in her forever home; however, special consideration may be given to country homes without fenced yards but who have appropriate safeguards for supervised play and exploration.
Flux is both crate trained and house trained. She has a good foundation in basic commands and is very easy to train as she loves learning new skills. Her recall is reliable but should still be practiced in a secured area as she is still learning. Flux would love a home where she can continue to work on her obedience skills which will also help continue to build her confidence. Flux is well mannered on leash and enjoys going for walks with her canine pals. While Flux isn’t afraid of car rides, she does get car sick. We’ve been working on some desensitization to help get her more comfortable, but this is still a work in progress.
Flux is a quiet puppy in general, but true to breed she will alert her people when someone new arrives at the home. She can be a bit shy with new people but warms quickly with gentle guidance and (of course), treats. Flux thrives on a predictable daily schedule which includes rest and play. She is incredibly adaptable when she has a predictable routine to rely on. Flux has met kids but hasn’t lived with them. Based on temperament, she would likely do well in a home with older, gentle children as long as the home was not overly busy with lots of different people coming and going.
Flux is friendly with other dogs but definitely has a preference. She prefers calm, gentle, and fair playmates and is easily overwhelmed by boisterous or high-energy dogs. She could live in a home with multiple other canine pals as long as they are easy going companions. Flux currently lives with cats as well and would be happy to continue to share her home with them. She is generally respectful of the cats but being that she is a puppy, on occasion she will try to engage in play with them. Flux has been proven to be safe and trustworthy around livestock, including sheep, goats, chickens, and geese and would be very happy living on a farm. While she is not a guardian dog, she is an excellent companion for farm chores and is a pup you can take with you anywhere.
The ideal adopter for Flux is one that is patient, gentle, and consistent. Flux is incredibly smart and a fast learner but she is also very sensitive and requires an adopter who can provide her with the confident and consistent handling she needs to grow into a well balanced adult.
If you’re looking for an easy going, versatile and adorable pup – Flux may be your girl!
