Hanna
Hanna is a snuggly, affectionate girl who loves being close to her people. She currently lives with a large breed dog and is thrilled to meet new canine friends. Her excitement towards new dogs can be a lot at first, so she benefits from controlled introductions, after a few minutes, she settles beautifully and shows off her friendly, goofy nature.
She hasn’t quite figured out toys yet, but she makes up for it with wrestling, rough housing, and joyful play with dogs who share her love for fun. A canine sibling with similar energy would be ideal. She has shown some prey drive towards critters while outside. She hasn’t met a cat but may be able to live with a dog savvy cat, provided adopters follow structured, slow, and supervised introductions.
Hanna is medium to high energy and enjoys long walks and active time with her people. She’s still a teenager at heart; snuggly one moment, silly and energetic the next. Her house training has improved significantly, but she still has the occasional accident. She benefits from regular outdoor reminders & a consistent routine.
We have seen minor guarding behaviour around high value food items with the other dog in the foster home. To keep things safe and prevent escalation, Hanna should eat meals and any chews separately from other animals. Behind a gate, in a room or her crate allows her to enjoy her food items safely.
Hanna is still working on her basic obedience and does greet new human friends paws first. She would benefit from attending positive reinforcement training classes with her people. She is crate trained & can be alone for a full workday. She has also been great in the car and has been on road trips up to 45 minutes without issues.
Once Hanna has had her activity needs met, this girl is so cuddly. She would be the perfect fit for an adoptive home who loves long walks and plenty of outside time.
