Harley
Harley is a sweet, independent, and thoughtful little guy who loves a balance of outdoor adventures and quiet time in a cozy corner with his chew or toy. He enjoys affection and cuddles, but very much on his own terms, and prefers a family who will respect his space and let him come to them when he’s ready.
He’s naturally a cautious but warms up quickly with gentle introductions and positive experiences. Once he’s comfortable, his silly, playful side comes out — especially when he’s outside wrestling or exploring a nature trail.
He lives with a small dog and gets along well after normal puppy boundary work. He’s a bit unsure of large dogs at first when off-leash, but has no concerns meeting dogs on-leash. The only time he becomes reactive is if his sibling tries to steal his food or toys — something not seen with any other dog or human.
Harley is wonderful with kids 8+, having lived with an 11-year-old and met many others. Because he still has mild puppy nippiness and likes personal space, a home with older, respectful children is ideal.
He has a medium energy level and thrives with two good 30–45 min walks per day, playtime in the yard, and the occasional hike in nature. He may or may not grow into a jogging partner, but he definitely loves outdoor time and exploring the world with his people.
Harley is almost fully house trained, with only occasional accidents if not let out regularly. When home, he needs to go out every 1–2 hours to prevent accidents, but he can hold it for up to 6 hours when left alone. He does well in his crate or a gated-off room.
He knows sit and crate, and is working on wait and down. He’s smart and responds well to positive reinforcement. Chews and toys help keep him busy and prevent boredom chewing.
Harley is also a great passenger in the car, calm and content on rides up to an hour — and likely much longer.
He would thrive in a home that values outdoor time, structure, patience, and positive reinforcement training. With the right guidance, Harley will grow into a confident, loving companion who brings a gentle, steady presence to his family.
