Kerby
Kerby is an adventurous, playful, and sweet puppy whose main priorities in life are exploring the world and having fun. He is always on the go, curious about everything around him, and ready to jump into the next game or adventure. At the end of the day, though, Kerby is just as happy to curl up beside you on the couch for a cozy snuggle.
Kerby currently lives with other dogs and absolutely loves having canine companions. He would do best with a dog who is patient with puppy behaviour and enjoys rougher play, as he thrives on wrestling, chasing, and interactive play. Kerby is happy to meet new dogs but, like with people, is still learning to manage his excitement, which can include some barking and over-enthusiasm. Kerby has not been tested with cats. He does well with children but, due to typical puppy nipping and jumping, would do best with dog-savvy kids 8+.
Kerby is an active puppy who needs a good balance of exercise and play. He enjoys walks (currently working on his leash manners), exploring the yard, playing chase, chewing on toys, and especially wrestling with his foster siblings. He would do well with either one longer walk and lots of playtime or multiple shorter walks per day, along with mental enrichment to keep him busy.
Kerby is still learning all the basics of puppy life. He knows “sit” and is working on “come,” “stay,” and “leave it.” He is doing well with house training but will need continued consistency and routine. Kerby has typical puppy behaviours, including chewing and learning to share toys. He can get upset when left alone and would do best in a home where someone is around often, or where he has a dog companion to keep him company. He currently manages being left for several hours with other dogs but does not enjoy being alone.
Kerby rides well in the car and has no issues with vet handling. Grooming such as nail trims is still a work in progress, as expected for a young puppy.
At home, Kerby is a happy, spunky little guy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. His adorable ears, playful spirit, and love for both adventure and cuddles make him a wonderful companion. If you’re looking for a fun, energetic puppy who will keep you smiling and active, Kerby might be your perfect match.
