Kia

Kia is a gentle, loving girl with a heart as big as her happy morning hops! Kia would be happiest in a home that values her sweet balance of affection and independence. She’s the kind of dog who loves the company of her humans but also enjoys her quiet time as well. She currently lives with young children and enjoys their hugs and kisses but when she has had enough she walks away.

Kia is friendly with other dogs, though she tends to be a little cautious around bigger males. Kia would do best slow intros. If she were to live with another dog, she would prefer one that respects her space.

Kia is crate trained and can do a full work day. Every morning, she bursts out of it with the most joyful “deer dance,” ready to greet the day and go for a walk. She’s a fun, easygoing walking or jogging companion, although she’s still perfecting her “no pulling” skills when squirrels, birds, or bunnies cross her path. With consistent, positive reinforcement (and some yummy treats), she’s making great progress!

After her adventures, Kia shows off her polite side by waiting patiently by the door or sitting pretty beside her food bowl until mealtime. In the backyard, she’s all curiosity and playfulness, sniffing around and leaping high into the air to “catch” those pesky squirrels.
