Ledger

Ledger is a smart boy who is eager to learn and love.  He has a wonderfully active brain (and body), and will need people who can devote time to turning this promising young kid into an exceptional dog.  He is eager to please and would be bored if not provided with outlets for his energy!  He will need daily doggy play and socialization in a controlled environment.

Ledger is excelling at his house training, and crate training.  He adores playing with the other dogs and toys in the yard and is often caught intertwined in a cuddle nap-fest with the other dogs in his home.  He loves cuddle time with his people, too. He also loves to be praised.  He is very food motivated, and you can see his brain working as he tries to determine what is being asked of him.  He is a really fun dog for someone looking to teach a dog all of the tricks!  He loves adventures and almost always jumps in with all 4 paws for a day of fun. New situations should be introduced with patience and care, though he would like try to make friends with just about anyone who is kind, but for sure if they have treatos!!!

Of special note, Ledger is DRAMATIC when he is being asked to do anything he does not want to do, such as being bathed, nails clipped, or if another dog appropriately tells him they have had enough of his puppy energy.  Even if he is actually enjoying the activity, such as a massage during being bathed, he will still throw in a few “woe is me” exclamations.  He can be talkative (both chatty and talk-back) at times and so his new home will need a sense of humour to go along with their pocket full of treatos everywhere they go!

Ledger will grow up to be an incredible breed ambassador in the right home, and we are excited to find that home for this very sweet boy.   Please be sure you meet all of his needs before you apply.
