Louis

Louis is a bright, affectionate, and hilarious cuddle bug who absolutely adores his people. He loves everyone he meets — humans, kids, dogs — and he’s happiest when he gets to be part of whatever the family is doing. He lives with two 11-year-old children and would be fabulous in a home with kids 6+ who understand puppy behavior.

With dogs, Louis is friendly and enthusiastic. He lives with a pug and happily greets all dogs he meets, though he’s still learning respectful greetings (no jumping, giving space, etc.). He’s met dogs in various environments and handles it all with a happy, social attitude.

Louis is a medium-energy pup who needs two longer walks a day (30–45 minutes). He loves nature walks and would grow into an excellent jogging partner. He’s agile, fast, and coordinated — he has real sport-dog potential, whether that’s agility, disc, or simply being your adventure buddy. He also LOVES fetch and will happily play with humans or dog friends.

Personality-wise, Louis is outgoing, affectionate, and mischievous in the most entertaining way. He’s a talented escape artist and acrobat — he has attempted walking along the back of the couch like a cat — so his family must be prepared to puppy-proof and supervise him. He’s smart, curious, and always looking for his next adventure.

Louis does not enjoy being confined to a crate or pen and can be very vocal if crated. Instead, he does beautifully when kept in a gated-off room, settling well at night and when left alone. He can manage up to 6 hours this way, though he would thrive with a family where someone works from home or has a hybrid schedule. Truly, nothing makes him happier than napping at someone’s feet while they work.

Training is a work in progress, but he’s thriving. Louis knows sit very well and is learning other basics quickly. House manners are good — though he needs reminders to keep those curious paws off tables and counters. He co-exists easily in a busy family environment. Potty training is almost complete, with only occasional accidents.

He’s very good in the car and has handled drives up to an hour with no problem — he’d be fine with longer travel as well.

Louis is happiest when he’s included in daily family life — hiking, camping, backyard play, fetch, cuddling, frisbee, or simply being nearby. He’s not a pup who enjoys spending long hours alone. He loves deeply, bonds strongly, and brings endless joy (and entertainment!) to his home.

He is truly a wonderful puppy who will thrive with a family ready to embrace his energy, intelligence, affection, and big personality.
