Mamacita

Mamacita (affectionately known as Cece) is a 20lb package of sweetness who has made incredible strides in her foster home. After coming from a place where she was once completely shut down, she has blossomed into an easy-going, well-mannered companion who is ready to find her perfect person.

Cece is the definition of a “happy camper” indoors. She has impeccable house manners and is fully house-trained. Whether she is curling up in a sunbeam for a nap or hanging out quietly in her crate, she is a low-maintenance housemate. She can be left alone for up to five hours without any issues or anxiety. Because she is so quiet and calm, she would make an ideal office dog for someone who works from home or can take her to a professional setting.

If you have a car, Cece is ready to be your co-pilot! She absolutely loves car rides and will happily watch the world go by before settling down for a snooze. She is also a fan of the outdoors, especially forest walks where she can take her time to “smell all the smells.” When she gets excited to go outside, she will show you her signature move: a happy spin and a joyful bark!

Cece is a sensitive soul who values her personal space. She enjoys the company of the teenagers in her foster home, but because she still cowers if someone reaches for her too quickly, a quiet home with adults or older, gentle children is a must.

When it comes to other dogs, she is happy to coexist as long as things move at her pace. She requires slow, patient introductions; she may bark or growl initially to set her boundaries, but she warms up well to dogs who respect her signals. Cece is terrified of cats and will become very stressed in their presence. She also has a natural drive to chase squirrels, so a home without rodents or bunnies is likely best.

Cece needs a family that understands she is still building her confidence. A home that avoids roughhousing and allows her to come to them for affection will help her continue to thrive.
