Marty

Have you been waiting for a large breed dog that is snuggly, quiet, easy-going and gentle? Look no further than Marty!

This sweetheart is shy around new people and dogs, but with help he warms up over time, loving nothing more than being in the company of his family. He is playful around our dog, happily being chased around the yard and playing tug of war. Due to his size and play style, we feel dogs 40lbs and up would be best for him. He is a medium energy dog and would like a foster home committed to exercising him for 1.5-2 hours every day, in a combination of play time, walks, and brain games. He is respectful with other dogs and would do well in a home with another dog, or as an only dog.

Marty was a timid boy when he first came into care, but he is becoming more confident every day. Fortunately he is very polite both in the house and on our walks. While Marty has not yet been formally introduced to cats, he has seen stray cats on walks, and is curious but did not go after them. He may be able to live with a dog savvy cat but a meet and greet is required.

This big guy is fully house trained and crate trained. He is very well mannered in the home, doesn’t jump on people, never barks at dogs he sees walking by, and doesn’t chew furniture. He is also polite while the people in the house are eating, not begging and provides space. Marty is a bit clumsy and would like to find a quieter home.  He may be okay with older, dog savvy and respectful kids, but small children may just get bumped on accident.

Marty is looking for a family willing to take things slow with him and who are interested in continuing his basic training, exposing him to more car rides, and showing him the world is not a scary place.

Do you think you’re a match for Marty?
