Peter Parker

Sweetheart, Peter Parker, is ready to find his forever home. He loves attention, cuddles, a good car ride, and playing with his kong filled with goodies.

He is crate trained and also sleeps in his crate overnight, making him the perfect pup for a family with multiple dogs in the home, as he can be safely separated when needed. Peter Parker is fully house trained and enjoying having a routine each day so he can prepare for the next activity.

He is a high energy boy who loves to run around in his safe fenced in yard, or walk the fields on a long leash with his nose to the ground.  Being a coonhound, this boy loves to follow his nose, so be prepared with a firm grip as he can pull on leash when he gets a good scent, or sees a dog or person that he wants to meet. Given his breed, scent training would make Peter Parker the happiest, and help to tire him out each day. This kind soul has shown no resource guarding while in care, and allows all forms of grooming such as baths, ear cleaning, nail trims, vaccine injections, and brushing.

Peter Parker has met kids aged 5+ before and loved their attention, cuddles, kisses, and affection. Due to his size, we feel a home with slightly older kids would be best for him to not knock anyone over on accident. Peter currently lives with an slightly smaller but older female dog in the home, and sometimes his zoomies can prove to be a little too much for her, so a similar sized, playful dog in the home would be better for him.  He would also do well as a solo dog in the home.

Peter Parker is a very smart boy, and eager to please. He is extremely gentle when taking treats. He has basic obedience skills and knows sit, lay down, no, bad, wait, this way, floor (to keep 4 paws on the floor), stay, and will sit away from the table during meals, Over (when walking on roadside), in your crate, shake a paw, and he’s learning ‘leave it’.  He is non-destructive and would be the perfect companion for someone willing to put in the effort of stimulating his brain.

Peter Parker does very well in the car and can do long car rides, perfect for bringing him along on trips to the cottage or out of town!
