Hi everyone! I’m Sawyer!
Sawyer was shy when he arrived as into foster care. At first he was intimidated by a lot of things – including his doggy foster brother and sisters. They showed him the ropes and he’s now developing into a playful puppy. Sawyer is very smart and picks up on things very quickly. He has mastered sit, crate, leave it and is working on down. In a positive and loving environment, this boy thrives!
He is coming along nicely with his potty training and will give you signals he needs to go outside if he’s not busy having the zoomies!
Sawyer loves toys. He is almost always seen with one in his mouth. He has a favourite stuffed bunny that he carries around with him and keeps safe in his crate.
Sawyer is nervous in new environments (including walks to new places) and it does take him some time to become confident in new situations. Another calmer dog in the home as well as continued socialization would be beneficial for Sawyer. He is food motivated and learns fast. He has had his nails trimmed many times and has no issue letting his foster mom handle his feet.
Like most puppies, he is busy and active and is looking for a home that will be able to keep up. When Sawyer has had enough playtime he will tuck himself into his crate with his bunny and have a nap! He will stay in his crate for about 6 hours during the work day or overnight. He will let you know if he needs to go outside at night by making some noise- he’s quick to do his business and then go back to bed.
Sawyer is looking for a home where puppies are celebrated and they are committed to helping him learn about the world around him in a way that helps him feel safe. He would benefit from positive reinforcement training classes so he can become the bestest boy!

- Housing: any, but with direct access to outside for potty training to a privately-owned space.

- Location: He is looking for a home in the Ottawa-Gatineau area as he has outstanding vetting covered by the adoption fee to complete at our vet in Ottawa West.
- Special: Sawyer can be left up to 6 hours, so a midday break would be ideal if you do work out of the home (but he is almost there)!
