Sierra

Sierra is a sweet, sensitive and silly girl. She is cautious and scared of new things and people but once she opens up and trusts she is a playful, happy and easygoing girl. In order for her to feel comfortable and come out of her shell quickly, Sierra requires a calm home and family who can build up her confidence. She will quickly lean on her new parents (you?) to show her the ways of the world.

Sierra likes to play with her foster sisters and would love another playful buddy in the home or regular playdates. She lives with a cat and although she is curious, she can live with dog savvy cats. Sierra gets overwhelmed around young kids; she would require a home with older children or no children. Sierra is medium energy; she loves to run around and play and is slowly learning to enjoy going for walks. She gets stressed and nervous in the car but, like everything else, with time she will feel more relaxed.

Sierra sleeps in her crate in the bedroom at night but gets stressed when left alone in it. She has been left loose in confined spaces for short stints and does well (not vocal or destructive). She prefers to have a family who is home more often, or a mid-day walk, particularly while she’s solidifying her housetraining. Sierra is mostly housetrained but will need a fenced yard as she is only comfortable going outside in the backyard – all the noises, cars and people on the street still make her nervous.

She shows no prey drive on these walks or in the backyard. She has good house manners. Sierra loves to play with toys and she loves to chew on her Nylabone or Bully Sticks. When not playing, Sierra loves to sleep on the couch. She loves her people and enjoys getting pets and cuddling up for a movie. Sierra is a very good, happy and playful pup that just needs a little time and patience to learn about life with a family of her own.

She gets a bit overwhelmed with the world around her outside of her safe space (her home) but give her time and patience and she will prove to you she is worth it.
